Though I’m not sure why, my video link from this past weekend didn’t work. But it explained a little bit of our lack of coverage this weekend. Or perhaps my friends over at KSK visually described it better:

In the time since my illness, the Flyers haven’t exactly played like themselves, either. After grinding out a tough 3-2 victory over the L.A. Kings Wednesday, Philadelphia was decimated by Dany Heatley’s hat trick performance two nights later, falling to San Jose 6-3 on Friday. The Flyers took the ice the very next night against Phoenix on the road, and the fatigue showed on the legs of the Orange and Black, as they dropped the contest 3-1 to the Coyotes.

Not to sit idly by, he team has recalled Andreas Nodl and Jared Ross from the Phantoms for depth, as they’re currently in the middle of a 10-games-in-17-days logjam.

Ross will be filling in for defensive-specialist  Blair Betts, who dislocated his shoulder in Saturday’s loss to the Coyotes. According to onthefly.com, Betts will miss the next four weeks rehabbing the injury. Ross has shown some offensive skills in the minors, so we’ll see how he holds up playing between Dan Carcillo and Ian Laperriere.

Biggest annoyance about this stretch of games:
Anytime L.A.’s Jonathan Quick made a save, Jim Jackson and Bill Clement could not seem to find another word to describe said save by anything other than his last name. It got to the point where they joked on-air about their inability to stop calling everything he did “quick”. Looks like we know what to get the Flyers’ broadcasting team this Christmas:

Maybe it'll tell you the proper way to pronounce "Coyotes", too.

I’d planned to make an entire list of things that bothered me about that stretch of hockey, but I’d come off sounding way too much like this:

"I don't know where it says that, cause the Bible is way too long to read."
