Flyers drop Sabres 5-2; Host inept St. Louis tonight.

November 7th, 2009 | by versionx |

So the Flyers beat Buffalo, a city in such poor shape it’s American in name only at this point, 5-2 last night. James van Riemsdyk and Chris Pronger had awesome goals of note for the Flyers while Ray Emery looked strong in net, making Thomas Vanek, Jochen Hect and (I can only assume) Pat LaFontaine look like little bitches in the process. Ryan Miller put on a display that had Sabres fans calling for Clint Malarchuk, not even coming close to slowing down the Orange and Black attack.

Riding in the midst of a three-game win streak (or the very definition of such a thing, according to Major League),Philly will play host to Paul Kariya, Andy McDonald and the St. Louis Blues in about a half hour. The Blues are 5-6-2, good for last in the Central Division, and have lost their last three contests. Oof. On the plus side the Blues’ leader in PIM is a fellow who goes by the name B.J. Crombeen. So at least they don’t have guys who are easily made fun of on their roster.

Since the Flyers are off until Thursday after tonight, I thought we’d postpone the next Deal or No Deal until Tuesdayish. Cause a near-week without Flyers content would kinda suck. So we’ll have injury updates on Simon Gagne, Danny Briere, and the defenseman version of Deal or No Deal.

I’ll leave you with this for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully Asham can make a better showing if he drops them tonight. Put up as much fight as the deer I hit with my car this week. Suck it, bambi.
